Lotus Eagle

The Lotus Eagle was the code name given to an all-new model for the Lotus lineup. The 2+2 coupe featured stylish lines which are instantly recognisable as belonging to a Lotus, especially from the front and rear. The Lotus Eagle, which went into production named the Lotus Evora, is powered by a mid-mounted 3.5 litre, Toyota-sourced V6 engine equipped with variable valve timing. The ECU (electronic control unit) has been designed in-house by Lotus, and provides a more sporting character to the engine. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. This drivetrain allows the Eagle to reach 60 mph in under 5 seconds, and continue on to a top speed in excess of 160 mph.
